The Cooperstown Graduate Program’s Six Core Values

Mission Statement

We train creative, entrepreneurial museum leaders committed to generating programs and services for the public good. Our students learn by doing tangible, useful work on real-world projects.

Cooperstown Graduate Program History

Founded in 1964, the Cooperstown Graduate Program was one of the first training programs in the United States for museum professionals. The original concentrations of the program gradually evolved into a History Track and a Science Track within the Museum Studies Master’s degree. CGP is one of the few museum studies programs in the country to offer a science-focused museum education.
